Help

What we email you, and where it goes.

Short answer: the things a person needs, and not a feed of every post.

Back to the help center.

What arrives

Email goes to your own account address, and it is deliberately quiet:

  • Sign-in and password messages
  • Invitations, when somebody adds you to a workspace
  • Receipts and anything about your plan
  • An account that has stopped working and needs reconnecting

We do not email you about every post. A mailbox with one message per publish is a mailbox you stop reading, and the message that mattered is the one you miss. For per-post news, connect Slack — it is one press.

Making sure it arrives

Press Send a test on the Email row. A real message goes to your real address, through exactly the same machinery every other message uses — so if the test lands in your inbox, the important ones will too.

If it does not arrive within a couple of minutes:

  • Check spam and promotions. A first message from a new sender often lands there. Marking it as not spam fixes every message after it.
  • Check the address on the row is the one you actually read.
  • A work mailbox may be filtering it. Ask whoever runs your mail to allow supahpost.com. This is the usual cause on a company domain.

Changing the address

Your email address is part of your account, not of the workspace, so it changes in one place: Settings › Account. Everything follows it — sign-in, receipts, invitations — and you do not have to change anything else.

You will be asked to confirm the new address before it takes over. Until you do, messages keep going to the old one, which is what stops a typo locking you out.

Getting less of it

Product news and anything marketing-shaped has an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every message, and it works immediately.

The messages listed at the top of this page do not, and that is deliberate: a password reset you unsubscribed from six months ago is an account you cannot get back into. Those stop when your account does.
