Looking at Buffer?

Buffer is a good product. It has been refined for well over a decade, it is genuinely pleasant to use, and for a great many people it is the right answer — if what you need is to get posts out to a lot of networks reliably and see how they did, it does that better than most things ever do anything.

SupahPost is not a cheaper Buffer. It is aimed at a different job: making the content, not just scheduling it. This page lays out where the two differ, with the date each claim was checked, so you can decide which job is yours.

Last checked: 2026-08-25. Everything below about Buffer comes from Buffer's own public pages on that date. Products change; if something here is out of date, tell us at support@supahpost.com and we will fix it.

  SupahPost Buffer
What it is built to do Make the post, schedule it, and report what it did — in one workspace Schedule and publish across many networks, and report what each post did
Pricing model Flat monthly subscription — not per seat, not per connected account. Credits for the few actions that cost real money each run. Free plan, then from $5–6 per channel per month — the bill scales with how many accounts you connect
Published prices Not yet. Access is by request while it opens to a first group. Yes, on their pricing page
Networks it publishes to Two — Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts Many more. If you need to publish to LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, Bluesky, Threads, Mastodon or Google Business Profile, Buffer does and we do not.
Image editing A real layered editor — layers, blend modes, PSD import and export, a cutout tool The composer is a scratchpad for text and attachments; design happens in Canva and is imported
Video editing A timeline — split, speed, markers, keyframes — and a deterministic export Not a video editor; video is uploaded already finished
AI generation Generates the whole post — graphic, carousel, composite from a link — and every output opens in the editor above AI assistance for writing and repurposing captions
Per-post earnings Yes, for Facebook Pages in Meta's Content Monetization Program. The dollars are Meta's, reported per post; the rate per thousand views is calculated by SupahPost and labelled RPM (est.). Pages outside the program show an empty dollar column and everything else works the same. No per-post earnings figure — reach, impressions and engagement
MCP server for an AI assistant Yes — 31 tools, three permission tiers, full audit log, revocable keys Yes, official and free on every plan. Publishing scope: it can put posts into the queue. It does not expose analytics.
What your AI can reach Performance data, the text platforms read out of your images, your photo library, and the tools that make the next graphic The publishing queue
Maturity Pre-launch, opening to a first group of operators Over a decade of refinement, a large team, and a support organisation to match

Choose Buffer

When Buffer is the right answer.

  • You publish to more than two networks. This is the big one and it is not close. We do Facebook and Instagram properly and nothing else at all.
  • Your content is already made — by a designer, an agency, or in Canva — and what you need is somewhere to queue it and measure it.
  • You want a published price and a product you can start using today. Ours is neither of those things yet.
  • You need a mature support organisation behind the tool.

Choose SupahPost

When we are.

  • Making the content is the expensive part of your week, not scheduling it. That is the whole reason this exists.
  • You want to fix what the AI got wrong rather than re-roll it — real layers, a real timeline, in the same place the post lives.
  • You run a lot of accounts and a per-channel bill has stopped making sense.
  • You want your AI assistant reading your own numbers, not just filling your queue.
  • Your Facebook Pages are in Meta's Content Monetization Program and you want per-post earnings beside everything else.

FAQ

Four questions people actually ask.

Is SupahPost cheaper than Buffer?

There is no honest answer yet, because SupahPost has not published prices. What is decided is the model: a flat monthly subscription that does not scale with the number of accounts you connect, where Buffer bills from $5–6 per channel per month. Whether that comes out cheaper depends entirely on how many accounts you run — at one or two channels, Buffer's free and entry plans are very hard to beat. Buffer pricing last checked 2026-08-25.

Does Buffer have an MCP server like SupahPost?

Yes, and it is free on every plan — this is not a gap. The difference is scope. As of 2026-08-25 Buffer's server is publishing-oriented: an assistant can put posts into your queue. SupahPost's exposes performance data, the text platforms read out of your images, your photo library, and the tools that make the next graphic, across 31 tools and three permission tiers. Which matters depends on whether you want an assistant that posts or one that looks at your numbers and then makes something.

Can I use both?

Yes, and for a lot of people that is the sensible answer while SupahPost publishes to two networks. Make the content in SupahPost, export it, and publish wherever you already publish. Nothing SupahPost makes is locked in — every output is a real editable document and PSD export is built in.

Why does SupahPost publish to only two platforms?

Because doing it properly is more work than listing it. Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts are connected with real page tokens, and when a platform rejects a post you get the actual reason rather than a generic failure. Adding networks is on the roadmap; claiming them before they work is not. If you need six today, that is a genuine reason to use something else, and this page says so on purpose.
